TACLOBAN CITY – The City Government of Tacloban honored the city's top ten most outstanding real estate and business taxpayers at a ceremony held at the Pacific Point Events and Resort in San Jose.
City Treasurer Zosima Cordaño led the distribution of plaques and tokens to the awardees, including Metro Gaisano Tacloban, Toyota Tacloban Leyte Inc., Leyte II Electric Cooperative Inc., Coca-cola Beverages Philippines Inc., CSB Finance Inc., SARC Food Corporation, JT International (Philippines) Inc., SM Prime Holdings Inc., Choy Dong 2 Vegetable Dealer, and Christopher P. Bautista Dried Fish and Salted Fish in Tacloban Public Supermarket.
The top real property taxpayers were Robinsons Land Corporation, Metro Retail and Development, SM Prime Holdings, Coca-cola Beverages Phils. Inc., Petron Corporation, Mother of Mercy Hospital, Tacloban PNT Ventures Corp., Michael, and Michelle Lee, and Wayne Builders Unltd.
Cordaño expressed gratitude for the continued support of the city's revenue partners, which have enabled the realization of numerous projects and earned Tacloban recognition as the city with the Highest Nominal Income in Region 8 and a top performer in terms of revenue growth and income at the national level.
The award ceremony is part of the 14th-year celebration of Tacloban's conversion to a highly urbanized city (HUC). It is a testament to the city's commitment to fostering a positive and supportive business environment, and recognizing the contributions of its top taxpayers. (with reports from CIO)
