TACLOBAN CITY — The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office VIII has officially launched the latest results of the National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction (NHTS-PR), also known as Listahanan 3, at The Oriental Hotel in Palo, Leyte.
The event, attended by DSWD employees, government officials, National Government Agencies (NGAs), Non-Government Organizations (NGOs), and various DSWD partners and stakeholders, marked the formal opening of the database for data-sharing partnerships with stakeholders.
The Listahanan 3 database, developed by the DSWD Field Office VIII, determined 365,086 poor households out of the 848,662 total households assessed in the Eastern Visayas region. It is a crucial tool for identifying potential social protection programs and service beneficiaries. It uses a scientific method and standardized criteria to identify who and where the poor are.
Launching the latest Listahanan 3 results is also an opportunity for implementers and developers of social protection programs and services to gain access to the poverty database of Region VIII. Interested parties can contact the National Household Targeting Section of DSWD Field Office VIII at nhts.fo8@dswd.gov.ph or visit their office at Government Center, Candahug, Palo, Leyte.
However, the DSWD Field Office VIII has also emphasized the importance of protecting the information in the Listahanan database.
The database is only made available based on strict data-sharing guidelines and only through a Memorandum of Agreement between the Department and the requesting party, in compliance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012.
