SIM Card Registration for DITO Subscribers (Step-by-Step Guide, Registration Link)

SIM Card Registration for DITO Subscribers (Step-by-Step Guide, Registration Link)

All DITO users must register their SIM Cards, either for mobile or prepaid broadband devices. They can simply go to the registration portal or download the DITO app.

(UPDATED) The Philippine government has recently implemented the SIM Registration Act, which requires all Subscriber Identity Modules (SIM) cards to be registered before activation. This new law aims to reduce or even eliminate crimes and fraudulent activities committed using SIM cards and make it easier for authorities to track down individuals who violate the law.

As a DITO subscriber, you must complete the DITO SIM activation process to enjoy the full benefits of your service. This new regulation is mandated by the SIM Registration Act (SRA) to protect your identity and prevent SIM card-related crimes. If you are a new subscriber who purchased and registered your SIM card after December 27, 2022, you will receive an SMS link to your phone number, guiding you through the simple online registration process.

Registering your SIM card is a straightforward process that should take less than an hour if you have the necessary identification cards ready.

You can access the DITO sim card online registration portal by clicking the button/link below:

How to register your DITO SIM Card?

Registering your DITO SIM card is just easy. You can download the DITO app or visit the portal at register.dito.ph. From there, you only need to provide the required information and upload a photo of your government-issued ID and a selfie. Once you register your SIM card, you can enjoy the fantastic benefits of DITO load promo, such as more data, calls, texts, and video calls for less money.

You may follow these simple steps:

Step 1 – Download the DITO App or go to register.dito.ph

The first step to registering your DITO SIM card is downloading the DITO App. You can do this by searching for "DITO" on either the Google Play Store (for Android phones) or the App Store (for Apple phones). Once you've found the app, simply click "Download" and wait for it to finish installing. Once the app is installed, open it and prepare to start the registration process.

If you are not able to download the DITO App, you can also go to the registration website at https://register.dito.ph.

Step 2   Click the "Register your SIM DITO" on the app

Once you've opened the DITO App, you'll see a "REGISTER HERE" button or banner displayed prominently. Click on this button or the banner to start the registration process. This will bring you to the next step of the process, where you'll be asked to provide your personal and sim card information.

Step 3  Enter the required information and enter the OTP code

The next step is to fill in your customer information. This includes the following details: (a) identity Type (Filipino, Filipino-dependent, juridical entity, foreigner), (b) Mobile Number, (c) complete name, (d) date of birth, (e) gender, (f) government ID, (g) ID Number, (h) complete address and (i) zip code.

After filling out the form, click on the "GET OTP" text to receive your one-time password (OTP). Also, make sure you enter your DITO number into the registration form.

After entering your mobile number into the DITO App, you must request an OTP code to confirm your identity. Simply click the "GET OTP" button to accomplish this. The password will then be texted to your phone.

Remember that this password is only valid for five minutes, so make sure you fill out all of the required information before requesting the OTP. This way, you won't waste time and can finish the registration process quickly.

Step 4 Attach a government ID and take a selfie with it

Upload a photo of your valid government-issued ID as well as a front-facing photo of yourself holding it.

After completing the form, you must upload or take a photo of your government ID. Any of the following can be used as the ID: Passport, National ID, UMID/SSS ID, Driver's License, Police Clearance, NBI Clearance, GSIS e-Card, Firearms License to Own and Possess ID, PRC ID, PWD Card, Integrated Bar of the Philippines ID, OWWA ID, Voter's ID, BIR ID, Senior Citizen Card,  or any other valid government-issued ID with a photo.

Note: Before you attach your government ID to your registration, it's important to make sure the file size of your photo is within the allowed limit. DITO only accepts a maximum file size of 2MB for photos, so if your ID photo is larger, you may want to use an online tool to compress the size before uploading.

Once you have successfully uploaded your government-issued ID, you must take a selfie and upload it. This step is required to confirm your identity and ensure that the SIM card is registered under the correct name. Find a brightly lit room for the best possible picture and activate the flash on your camera.

Step 5 – Submit the registration form

To complete the registration process, you must tick the boxes to agree that you are in compliance with the SIM Card Registration act and DITO’s data privacy statement. Once done, click the “SUBMIT” button.

When you are done providing all the necessary details, including uploading your government-issued ID and selfie photo, it's time to review and submit the information. Make sure to double-check that all the information you've entered is accurate.

You must also check the boxes indicating your agreement with the SIM Registration Act and the DITO's Data Privacy Statement. Once you're confident everything is correct, simply hit the "Submit" button to complete the registration process.

NOTE: You must take a screenshot after completing the registration process, especially the SIM Registration Number, for future reference.

And that's it! Your DITO SIM card is now activated and ready to use.

Who needs to register?

It applies to everyone with a DITO SIM card, whether you use it as a prepaid or postpaid user. This includes foreign nationals and businesses/corporate entities. And if you have more than one SIM card, you can register multiple SIM cards under one name.

For postpaid users, it's different. If you are an existing postpaid user, you will receive a notification from DITO to confirm your already submitted information. This is to ensure that your information is up-to-date and accurate.

What happens if I don't register?

If you are a new user (prepaid or postpaid), your SIM card will only be activated once you register it. If you are an existing user (prepaid or postpaid), you have 180 days, or 6 months, from the date the new law takes effect to register your SIM card.

Otherwise, your SIM card will be deactivated. But don't worry, you'll have a 5-day window to register and have it reactivated. If you do not register within the initial and grace periods, your SIM card will be deactivated, and you may face penalties.
