The annual Sinulog Festival is fast approaching, and Cebu City is already buzzing with excitement. The Sinulog Festival is an annual event held in Cebu City, Philippines, to honor the Santo Niño, or Holy Child, a depiction of the infant Jesus revered throughout Central Visayas.
It is held on the third Sunday of January each year. The festival will begin on January 5th at 4 a.m. with the Walk with Jesus, a procession starting at the Basilica del Sto Niño. From there, the festivities will continue with various cultural events such as music and dance performances, food and craft fairs, and religious ceremonies.
The highlight of the Sinulog Festival is the grand parade, which will take place on the morning of January 15 and feature floats and dancers dressed in colorful costumes.
Here is a schedule of events for the Sinulog Festival 2023:
January 5th:
- 4 a.m. - "Walk With Jesus" from Basilica del Sto Niño to Assembly Fuente Osmeña and Jones, Osmeña Blvd to Sto. Niño
- 6 a.m. - Opening Salvo Mass at Basilica del Sto. Niño
January 6th:
- 10 a.m. - Sinulog 2023 Trade Fair at SM Seaside City Cebu, sponsored by DTI
- 2:30 p.m. - Mass at Basilica Pilgrim Quardangle
- 3 p.m. - Launching Parade (Traditional Route) from Basilica to CCSC or Alternative
- 7 p.m. - Opening Nightly Shows at Fuente Osmeña and Plaza Independencia
- 8 p.m. - Sinulog Idol at Fuente Osmeña or Mall Venue (TBA)
January 7th:
- 3 p.m. - Ver Festival at SM Seaside Concert grounds
- 7 p.m. - Nightly Shows at Fuente Osmeña and Plaza Independencia

January 8th:
