BSP debunks fictitious 150-piso banknote featuring Dr. Jose Rizal

TACLOBAN – The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), the central bank of the Philippines, has issued a statement regarding a fake 150-Piso banknote featuring the country's national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal, that has been circulating on social media.

The bank has informed the public that it has not released such a denomination, and the circulated images are fictitious. The BSP has urged the public to always verify the legitimacy of information regarding Philippine banknotes and coins before accepting or sharing it.

The central bank has a dedicated section on its official website, www.bsp.gov.ph, where the public can check the legitimacy of banknotes and coins.
