Tacloban City Police Station 2 recently arrested a man for possessing a stolen iPhone 11 Pro Max. The suspect, identified only as "Jhon," was caught at a cell phone repair shop attempting to have the device reformatted.
The police received a call from the owner of the stolen device, who had used Apple's iCloud "Find My Phone" locator to track down her missing phone. The locator provided the exact location of the phone, which had been described as a midnight grey iPhone 11 Pro Max worth PHP 76,000.
Upon arriving at the repair shop, the police arrested Jhon and informed him of the nature of his arrest and his constitutional rights in a dialect known to him. A search incidental to his lawful arrest was conducted, and during the search, the arresting officer recovered an AirPods Pro worth PHP 12,000 from John's pocket.
The suspect has been temporarily detained at the police station, and a violation of PD 1612 (Anti-Fencing) has been filed against him at the City Prosecutors Office. The case will be processed through an inquest proceeding.
