EASTERN VISAYAS – Ten (10) Sustainable Livelihood Program Associations (SLPAs) showcased their products at the SM Sunday Market at SM Center Ormoc on March 26, 2023. The Ormoc Federation of Sustainable Program Associations, Inc. (OFSPAI) and the Rural Improvement Club organized the event. (RIC).
Coconut wine, coconut vinegar, coco syrup, turmeric coffee, salabat, fresh fruits and vegetables were among the products displayed by the participating SLPAs. These products were all made in a sustainable manner, ensuring that they were both environmentally friendly and safe to consume.
The ten SLPAs that took part in the event were the Cabaon-an Community Farmer's Association, Cogon Rice Dealer Women's Association, Quezon Jr. United Farmers Association, Cabintan SEA-Kaunlaran Livelihood Association, Goodlan Winery Tuba and Vinegar Livelihood Associations, (RIC)-Camp Downes Home-Based Association, Kasammava Chicken-Layer Livelihood Association, Matica-a Farmers Association, Curva Agrarian Reform Cooperative, and the Airport Women's Association.
The event aimed to provide these SLPAs a platform to showcase their products to a wider audience and increase their market reach. Through the event, the SLPAs hoped to gain more exposure and generate additional income, which would help them improve their livelihoods.
The SM Sunday Market at SM Center Ormoc will run every Sunday until June 12, 2023, allowing the SLPAs to showcase their products regularly. This will help them establish a steady customer base and improve their overall sales. —iTacloban (Source: DSWD-8)
