Man arrested in Tacloban City for violating Anti-Fencing Law

Tacloban City PNP apprehended a man on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, for violating the Anti-Fencing Law of 1979. The suspect was caught buying, selling, or possessing stolen goods in Barangay 37, Reclamation Area, Tacloban City.

The man, identified only as "Henry," is a 50-year-old resident of Barangay 37 and unemployed. 

Police Colonel Michael P. Palermo, City Director, confirmed that the Tacloban City Police Office's Police Station 1 and the Tacloban City Enforcement Unit conducted the arrest.

The Anti-Fencing Law prohibits the sale, purchase, or possession of stolen goods, and violators may face imprisonment and fines. The police recommended bail for Henry's violation is Php 72,000.00.

The arrest of the suspect is part of the Tacloban City PNP's ongoing campaign against criminal activities in the city. The authorities are urging the public to report any suspicious activities related to the sale or possession of stolen goods to prevent crimes and protect the community.
