TACLOBAN CITY – AUTOKID PUVMP Solutions held a successful PUVMP CARAVAN in Tacloban City on March 06, 2023, in partnership with the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) Region 8.
The event was held successfully despite the recent nationwide "tigil pasada" (transport strike) that called for a halt in the operations of public utility vehicles (PUVs) across the country.
The PUVMP program is a nationwide initiative that aims to replace old and unsafe jeepneys, buses, and other PUVs with newer models that are more fuel-efficient, environmentally friendly, and equipped with modern features.
Despite the program's admirable goals, it has encountered significant opposition from some PUV operators and drivers who are unwilling to comply with the LTFRB's new regulations and standards.
The success of the PUVMP CARAVAN in Eastern Visayas, on the other hand, demonstrated that many PUV operators and drivers are willing to embrace change and work to provide better transportation services for their passengers.
Gualberto N. Gualberto, Regional Director of the LTFRB, thanked AUTOKID PUVMP Solutions and all stakeholders for their assistance with the PUVMP program. He emphasized that the program is a collaborative effort of all stakeholders, not just a government initiative. —iTacloban
