TACLOBAN CITY – As Holy Week approaches, Calvary Hill in Barangay 39 is gearing up to welcome thousands of tourists who flock to the area for spiritual and religious activities. The hill, which features the "14 Stations of the Cross," is a sacred site and a popular tourist destination.
Barangay Captain Ricardo Ogardo stated that the site is ready to accommodate visitors due to the collaboration of various organizations, such as the City Government of Tacloban, Hiraya Foundation, City Tourism Office, Eagles Club, and the Barangay Council.
To ensure the safety of visitors, the place will be closely monitored by police officers, Barangay Tanod, Barangay Volunteers, TOMECO, Firemen, Medical Teams, CDRRMO, and rescue units with ambulances on standby for immediate medical assistance.
Barangay Captain Ogardo urges the public to follow safety measures and guidelines when visiting the site. Visitors should climb up the hill in an orderly manner and not loiter around the area to avoid accidents and injuries.
