TACLOBAN CITY — The Eastern Visayas Regional Athletic Association (EVRAA) Meet 2023, a highly anticipated event, is scheduled to occur in Tacloban City next week. The event is set to feature athletes and officials from various schools in the region, who will arrive in the city on April 23, with the opening program scheduled for April 24.
The various sports competitions, including basketball, football, and volleyball, will be held from April 25 to 27.
The Leyte Sports Development Center, or the Grand Stand, will be the focal point for the EVRAA Meet 2023. This venue is one of the most prominent sports centers in the region, and it is expected to host a significant portion of the events during the Meet.
Three prominent schools in Tacloban City have been selected to host the delegations for the Meet. These schools are Rizal Central School for the Northern Samar delegation, San Jose National High School for the Ormoc City delegation, and Leyte National High School for the Tacloban City delegation, as well as the officiating officials.
The basketball competition will take place at the Tacloban City Astrodome, which has undergone soundproofing to prepare for the games. The football fields at San Jose Elementary School and Sagkahan National High School are currently undergoing filling to prepare for the football games. The City Engineers Office Gymnasium has been designated as the venue for the Volleyball competitions.
Other events will take place outside Tacloban, such as in the municipalities of Tanuan, Santa Fe, and Palo in the province of Leyte. —iTacloban (Source: CIO)
