TACLOBAN CITY – The Philippine Army Recruitment Office in Eastern Visayas has announced the schedule for the pre-entry exams for Officer Candidate Course (OCC) applicants in the region. Aspiring officers who meet the qualifications may apply and take the exams on the specified dates and locations.
The pre-entry exams include the Armed Forces of the Philippines Service Aptitude Test (AFPSAT), Army Qualifying Examination (AQE), and Special Written Examination (SWE). The tentative schedule for the exams is as follows:
- 14-15 April 2023: AFPSAT (OCC Only) – Northwest Samar State University – Calbayog City
- 16 April 2023: AQE/SWE – Northwest Samar State University – Calbayog City
- 17-18 April 2023: AFPSAT (OCC Only) – Eastern Samar State University – Borongan City
- 19 April 2023: AQE/SWE – Eastern Samar State University – Borongan City
- 21-22 April 2023: AFPSAT (OCC Only) – Saint Joseph College – Maasin City, Southern Leyte
- 23 April 2023: AQE/SWE – Saint Joseph College – Maasin City, Southern Leyte
- 24-25 April 2023: AFPSAT (OCC Only) – Eastern Visayas State University – Ormoc Campus, Ormoc City, Leyte
- 26 April 2023: AQE/SWE – Eastern Visayas State University – Ormoc Campus, Ormoc City, Leyte
Pre-screening starts promptly at 6:00 AM. The Philippine Army Recruitment Office Region 8 also accepts walk-in OCC applicants and graduating college students for the school year 2023. As for the qualifications, applicants for OCC must meet the following:
- At least 20 years old but not older than 27 years old on the date of admission
- Baccalaureate degree holder
- Single and never been married; never borne or sired a child
- Natural-born Filipino citizen
- Height of not less than 5’0” (152.4 cm) for both males and females but not more than 6’4” (193.04cm)
- Physically and mentally fit
- Enlisted Personnel can apply without completing one (1) term.
Interested applicants must bring the following requirements during the pre-screening:
- PSA Birth Certificate (original)
- Transcript of Records and Diploma (original)
- Valid ID (Government-issued)
- Fresh College Graduates - Just bring a Certification Signed by the School Registrar, Prospectus, School ID
- Pencils
- Attire: White Shirt, Long Pants, Rubber Shoes
