TACLOBAN CITY – Congressmen Gerryboy Espina, Richard Gomez, and Coco Yap emerged as the top-performing District Representatives in the Eastern Visayas region, according to a recent "Boses ng Bayan" performance assessment survey conducted by the RP-Mission and Development Foundation Inc. (RPMD).
The survey, which evaluated the performance of District Representatives in the region, asked respondents to rate their Representatives based on three criteria: "representation," "legislation," and "constituent service." The survey results were impressive, with Gerryboy Espina, Richard Gomez, and Coco Yap each receiving a remarkable rating of 90.3%, 74.1%, and 74.0%, respectively, tying them for the top spot.
Luz Mercado came in second with a score of 70.3%, followed closely by Paul Daza with a score of 70.1%. Other top-performing District Representatives include Maria Fe Abunda, Anna Veloso-Tuazon, Harris Christopher Ongchuan, Carl Cari, Jimboy Tan, Reynolds Tan, and Lolita Javier.

Dr. Paul Martinez, the Executive Director of RPMD, praised the top-performing District Representatives, highlighting their dedication and commitment to public service. He emphasized that they have fulfilled their roles and responsibilities and made significant contributions to the betterment of their respective districts.
According to the survey report, constituents of Gerryboy Espina, Richard Gomez, and Coco Yap are not surprised by the top-performing results. These Representatives have demonstrated that public service is a calling, going above and beyond to assist their communities.
The survey was part of the national poll "RPMD's Boses ng Bayan" conducted on February 25–March 8, 2023, by RP-Mission and Development Foundation Inc. The survey was performed per district in every region with a total of 10,000 respondents who were registered voters.
The sampling margin of error is ±1 percent with a 95% confidence level. They were randomly chosen, and the number of respondents per district was distributed proportionally based on official voting population data. —iTacloban (Source: RPMD)
