TACLOBAN CITY – The Astrodome, known as Tacloban City Convention Center, is now ready to host the Eastern Visayas Regional Athletic Association (EVRAA) 2023 basketball games. The management of the Astrodome has announced that the venue is now fully equipped and ready to accommodate the large crowd expected to attend the tournament.
According to Joel R. Bugho, the Manager of the Astrodome, the stadium underwent extensive renovations over the past few months to improve the soundproofing and sound system. These changes were necessary to ensure the venue could handle large events without disturbing the surrounding area.
Bugho added that the Astrodome is fully air-conditioned and can accommodate up to 5,469 people. The stadium features four large hanging LED wall TVs in the center of the court that can be viewed from any angle, making it easy for the audience to watch the games. Additionally, there is ample parking space available for those attending the games.
The Astrodome's modern facilities include washrooms on the ground floor, the second floor, and two additional restrooms outside the building. The restrooms are maintained and kept clean at all times. The venue also has a direct water supply, ensuring an adequate supply of clean water for visitors.
The official opening of the 2023 EVRAA Meet is on April 24, with basketball games scheduled for April 25 to April 27. Delegations from various schools and universities in the region are expected to arrive in Tacloban on April 23 to participate in the games. —iTacloban (Source: CIO)
