TACLOBAN CITY – On April 14, 2023, the Tacloban City District Engineering Office (TCDEO) and the Tacloban City Government gathered key stakeholders and urban planning experts to discuss the implementation of the Detailed Urban Master Plan for Tacloban City North District.
Attendees included Engr. Ted Bryan A. Bacor and Engr. Ken Lawrence Plimaco from TCDEO's Planning and Design Section, Leonard Tedence A. Jopson from the City Housing and Community Development Office, as well as Engr. Manuel A. Serdan from the City Planning and Development Office.
During the meeting, Engr. Ted Bryan Bacor unveiled the proposed Consultancy Services for the Detailed Urban Master Plan, estimated at 30 million.
The plan aims to tackle the urbanization challenges faced by the northern barangays of Tacloban City, including Salvación, Palanog, Cabalawan, Bagacay, and Sta. Elena. These areas have yet to experience the full benefits of urban development witnessed in other parts of the city.
Engr. Bacor expressed his optimism: "The Detailed Urban Master Plan for Tacloban City North District is a crucial step towards sustainable and inclusive urban development. Our goal is to transform the northern barangays into thriving and resilient communities that offer a high quality of life for all residents."
To ensure the success of this ambitious project, various government agencies, including the DPWH Regional Office VIII, City Health Office (CHO), and City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO), will actively participate in the planning and execution phases. This collaborative approach aims to facilitate effective coordination and maximize the benefits of the Detailed Urban Master Plan.
