TACLOBAN CITY – The Tacloban City Police Office (TCPO) has suspended their personnel's leave and absences this Holy Week. This was confirmed by Police City Director Col. Michael P. Palermo, who said that their entire force is on full alert to ensure the public's safety during this religious observance.
According to Palermo, their full alert status will be in effect for the entire Holy Week, covering all Catholic religious engagement sites in Tacloban. This is to guarantee the safety and security of everyone attending these activities.
The official also mentioned that their full alert status will continue during the summer break, as they anticipate an influx of tourists visiting the city. The police force is prepared to provide everyone with safety and security, especially tourists unfamiliar with the area.
In a separate statement, Police Regional Office 8 Director PBGen. Rommel Francisco D. Marbil emphasized that their police force is always on alert, not just during Holy Week. He reiterated their commitment to ensuring the public's safety at all times.
"Ang gusto ng Pulis sa Region 8, safe ka," said Marbil, underscoring their mission to maintain peace and order in the region. —iTacloban (Source: CIO)
