TACLOBAN CITY – Filipinos are excited to explore the beautiful destinations of the country as the Lenten season and summer are finally here. One of the most popular destinations during this time is Eastern Visayas, which offers a perfect combination of relaxation and adventure.
According to the Department of Tourism (DOT), a family from Manila is headed to Allen, Northern Samar, for a beach holiday. Allen is known for its beaches, such as Cabacungan and Imaga, as well as its proximity to Capul Island, which offers a historic lighthouse and picturesque landscapes. The family also plans to visit the pink sand beach of Sila and beach resorts in San Antonio.
Aside from its stunning beaches, Eastern Visayas also boasts other tourist attractions like the Biri Island Rock Formations and Calbayog City's Bangon and Tarangban Falls. The region also caters to different interests, such as island getaways, adventure trips, pilgrimages, or cultural immersion.

Upon arrival at the Tacloban City Daniel Z. Romualdez (DZR) Airport, tourists will receive assistance from various agencies such as the PNP – Aviation Security Unit 8, Office of Transportation Security, Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines, Tacloban City Tourism Office, and Department of Tourism Regional Office 8.
Meanwhile, the tourism desk at DZR Airport is available to accommodate any inquiries about travel information in Eastern Visayas.
Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco urged travelers to use this opportunity to reflect and share their blessings with those in need during the Season of Lent.
