TACLOBAN CITY – The Department of Health in Eastern Visayas (DOH-8) has initiated the Chikiting Ligtas Campaign to vaccinate children aged 0-59 months against measles, rubella, and polio.
The campaign was launched in various cities and municipalities throughout the region, including Tanauan, Baybay City, Tacloban City, Naval, and Malitbog.
The Chikiting Ligtas Campaign, which commenced on April 28, 2023, aims to provide free vaccination to children in Eastern Visayas. Local leaders, health officials, and representatives from the World Health Organization attended the campaign launches, demonstrating their commitment to achieving a measles, rubella, and polio-free region.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to bring their children to the nearest health centers and vaccination posts to receive the free vaccines provided by the DOH.
The Chikiting Ligtas Campaign is scheduled to run throughout May, aiming to reach as many children as possible and protect them from these preventable diseases. —iTacloban
