The Mayor praised the athletes' discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship, factors that contributed to their first-ever 3rd placement in the said sports competition.
The Palarong Pambansa, the national sports competition of the Philippines, is slated to be held in Marikina this coming July 2023.
As a sign of the city government's continuous support to the youth engaged in sports, Mayor Romualdez also announced the plan to construct a sizeable Sports Complex. An inspection has already been conducted on a three-hectare piece of land in North Tacloban earmarked for this purpose.
This project aims to bolster the training of young athletes in various sporting disciplines, reinforcing the local government's commitment to promoting sports and fostering youth development. —iTacloban
