TACLOBAN CITY – The National Economic and Development Authority - Regional Office VIII (NEDA-8) generously donated 70 pre-owned tablets to Dampigan Elementary School (ES) in Sta. Rita, Samar, to bridge the digital divide in public schools.
The donation, led by NEDA-8 Regional Director Meylene C. Rosales, took place on May 17, 2023, to improve students' access to digital education in the region.
RD Meylene C. Rosales organized the donation event to demonstrate her commitment to closing the educational opportunity gap.
Dampigan ES Principal Ernelete F. Baoy graciously accepted the tablets, expressing gratitude for the invaluable contribution to the school's learning resources. Dampigan Punong Barangay Brgy. Erlette F. Mendoza was in attendance and praised the initiative.
The donated tablets will play a vital role in providing students access to various learning activities and educational tools. This initiative aligns with the Eastern Visayas Regional Development Plan 2023-2028, which emphasizes promoting and integrating digital learning modes into the educational system.
