TACLOBAN CITY – The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) has temporarily closed the Civil Registry System (CRS) Outlet in Tacloban City. This move comes as part of the preparation for the outlet's relocation to a new location.
The Tacloban City CRS Outlet, currently situated at Leyte SR Building, Artemio Mate Extension, will be closed from June 22, 2023 (Thursday) until June 30, 2023 (Friday). During this period, the outlet will undergo the necessary procedures to facilitate the transfer to its new premises.
According to the PSA, the outlet's operations are expected to resume on July 3, 2023 (Monday). However, there will be a temporary shift to an offline mode through the Batch Request System (BREQS). Under this system, all requests for civil registry documents will be processed at the CRS Catbalogan City Outlet, which will serve as the servicing outlet. Once the processing is complete, clients will receive a text notification informing them that their requested documents are ready for pick-up at the CRS Tacloban City Outlet.
Effective July 3, 2023, the new CRS Tacloban City Outlet location will be on the 2nd floor of GAISANO CAPITAL REAL, located at 78 Real St., Downtown, Tacloban City. The PSA advises clients to take note of this change and adjust their future visits accordingly.
During the temporary closure, the PSA suggests several alternative channels for clients to avail themselves of their civil registry document requests. These options include other PSA CRS outlets in Eastern Visayas, namely the CRS Borongan City Outlet located at 135 G. Abogado St., Barangay D-1, Borongan City, and the CRS Maasin City Outlet situated at E. Cabrera St., Tunga-tunga, Maasin City.
Clients can also utilize PSA-authorized online channels such as PSA Serbilis (psaserbilis.com.ph) and PSA Helpline (psahelpline.ph). Accredited Batch Request System (BREQS) partners at Local Government Units, SM Business Center Tacloban City, PSA Biliran, and PSA Northern Samar are also available for document requests.
Furthermore, clients who have scheduled online appointments with the PSA CRS Tacloban City Outlet from June 22, 2023, are advised to visit the outlet before June 22, 2023, earlier than their scheduled appointments to avoid any inconvenience. It is important to bring and present the appointment slip at the entrance for verification. —iTacloban
