TACLOBAN CITY – Tacloban City Police and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region 8 (PDEA 8) have achieved notable successes in recent anti-drug operations, demonstrating their unwavering commitment to combating illegal drug activities.
On July 14, 2023, two Street Level Individuals were arrested in a buy-bust operation in Brgy. 95 Caiba-an, Tacloban City. The suspects, identified as Butchok, a 40-year-old truck driver, and Rey, a 42-year-old photographer, were swiftly taken into custody. During the operation, law enforcement officials seized 5 grams of suspected shabu, which holds a standard drug price of Php 20,500.00.
In another operation on July 7, 2023, the Rank 5 Regional Level Top Priority Target was arrested in an Anti-Illegal Drugs Operation in Brgy. 96 Calanipawan, Lumbang 2, Tacloban City. The suspect was identified as Yap, a 51-year-old lechon vendor and resident of the area.
The operation yielded the confiscation of 10 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated market value of Php 68,000. Additionally, authorities discovered a revolver handgun and three live ammunition rounds.
On July 6, 2023, a High-Value Individual was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Barangay 108 Tagpuro, Tacloban City. The suspect was identified as Pare (HVI), a 38-year-old resident of Brgy. 59 Picas Sagkahan, Tacloban City, was swiftly apprehended. The operation led to the confiscation of 31 grams of suspected shabu, valued at approximately Php 210,800.
