EASTERN VISAYAS – The Department of Labor and Employment-Eastern Samar Field Office (ESFO) has successfully transitioned to a more spacious and accessible location, poised to provide enhanced services to its clients. The new office, situated on the 2nd Floor of the JRC Building in Brgy. Songco, Borongan City, was formally inaugurated on August 10, 2023.
Expanding to an area spanning 450 square meters, the freshly inaugurated ESFO office is primed to better accommodate a growing number of clients seeking access to diverse DOLE programs and services. The strategic relocation aims to provide a more conducive and convenient environment for ESFO staff and the individuals they serve.
Gracing the office's inauguration and blessing ceremony were esteemed guests, including Regional Director Henry John S. Jalbuena, Assistant Regional Director Norman L. Uyvico, and various field office heads and division chiefs from DOLE-8.
Chief Fe Norma D. Valuis of ESFO expressed her satisfaction with the new office premises, emphasizing that the expanded workspace would contribute to more efficient operations. Valuis thanked the DOLE-8 management for their unwavering support, which paved the way for the successful transfer.
"I am thankful to the DOLE-8 leadership through RD Henry John Jalbuena for considering our request to transfer. This will definitely benefit not only our staff here in the field office but also the clients we are serving here in the province of Eastern Samar," shared Valuis.
In his address, Director Jalbuena congratulated the ESFO team and urged them to continue striving for excellence in public service.
"My warm congratulations to ESFO team, and I hope this office transfer will really translate to a more improved service delivery to our clients and other stakeholders here in Eastern Samar," said Jalbuena.
The event garnered strong support from local government officials, with Provincial Administrator Nelson Cortez representing Governor Ben Evardone, and several mayors from surrounding LGUs expressing their messages of encouragement.
The new location of ESFO enjoys a strategic proximity to the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS), offering added convenience for clients. This move marks a significant transition from the previous decade when the ESFO operated from a relatively smaller space in Brgy. Alangalang, Borongan City. —iTacloban (Source: DOLE-8)
