TACLOBAN CITY – On Monday, August 14, the Cirilo Roy Montejo National High School (CRMNHS) in Tacloban City kicked off the first day of Brigada Eskwela, the Department of Education's school maintenance week, in preparation for the upcoming school year. This annual initiative aims to prepare schools and facilities for the upcoming school year.
Eric Estoque, the spokesperson for CRMNHS, shared during an interview on the radio program "Oras han Tacloban," aside from facility preparations, they are also focused on streamlining the enrollment process. Additionally, they will conduct reading evaluations in both Filipino and English and numeracy tests for students, making the upcoming days crucial for preparation.
Estoque mentioned that enrollment for Grades 7, 8, 9, and 10 at CRMNHS will be open from August 14 to 26. It is necessary for both the guardian or relative and the student to be present during enrollment. An estimated 1,459 students are expected to enroll for the upcoming school year.
Brigada Eskwela will be managed by 60 public schools in the city, starting August 14 until August 19. These schools have received financial assistance from the local government to support their preparations for the class opening.
Meanwhile, the School Year 2023-2024 is set to commence on August 29, 2023, bringing new opportunities for students across the city to embark on another year of learning and growth. —iTacloban (Source: CIO)
