TACLOBAN CITY – The Office of the Vice President's Eastern Visayas Satellite Office recently conducted a payout for the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program on February 1 in Tacloban City.
In coordination with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), the initiative aimed to provide support to disadvantaged and displaced workers affected by the current economic challenges.
420 beneficiaries from 9 barangays received financial assistance through the TUPAD program, a community-based packaged assistance that offers emergency employment to Filipinos in need.
The distribution event was facilitated by the OVP Eastern Visayas Satellite Office, together with the Assistant Regional Director of DOLE Region VIII, the Regional Police Security and Protection Unit VIII, and barangay officials.
The Office of the Vice President reiterated its commitment to assisting Filipinos needing livelihood opportunities. Through partnerships with various government agencies and local communities, the OVP aims to address the immediate needs of disadvantaged workers and contribute to the country's economic recovery efforts. —iTacloban
