Sangyaw Festival 2024 culminates in spectacular events

Tacloban City gears up for the Sangyaw Festival 2024 finale, featuring a week of music, culture, and dazzling light parades.

TACLOBAN CITY – As the Sangyaw Festival 2024 approaches its grand finale, Tacloban City is alive with anticipation for a week filled with cultural festivities at the city's bustling streets and Leyte Park's Sangyawan Grounds. The city's annual cultural extravaganza reaches its peak with a diverse lineup of events that cater to music lovers, culture enthusiasts, and revelers alike.

Kicking off on June 25, reggae enthusiasts are invited to groove to the beats of Chocolate Factory at the "Reggae Night," a free admission event setting the stage for an exciting week ahead.

On June 26, music aficionados can indulge in the "ABBA Revisited Concert," a ticketed event where audiences can enjoy the timeless hits of the iconic Swedish group, held at the Tacloban City Convention Center.

The following day, June 27, promises a double treat with "Tingog Night" at Sangyawan Grounds featuring Mayonnaise and TNT Champions JM & Marielle. 

As the week progresses, on June 28, "San Miguel Night" features Noel Palomo of Siakol & The Repakol Band delivering a high-energy rock performance, free for all attendees.

The highlight of Sangyaw Festival, June 29, shines bright with the "Sangyaw Parade of Lights 2024," captivating spectators with dazzling displays and floats lighting up the night. 

Following this spectacle, the "Mayor's Night" takes center stage with GG Vibes featuring Gigi de Lana, BuDaKhel (Bugoy Drilon, Daryl Ong, & Michael Pangilinan), Katrina Velarde, Dabarkads Allan K, Ate Gay, Alexa, and Regina. This event, known for its blend of music, comedy, and community spirit, is open to the public with free admission.

Meanwhile, ravegoers can head to the "Wonderland Rave Party" at City Hall Grounds on the same night on June 29.

Concluding the festivities on June 30, Tacloban City commemorates the 135th Fiesta Celebration of St. Niño de Tacloban, a day that promises religious ceremonies, marking a fitting end to Sangyaw Festival 2024.
