TACLOBAN CITY—This city is set to implement a new public transport route plan following the recent approval of City Ordinance No. 2024-15-19, also known as the "Ordinance Adopting the Local Public Transport Plan (LFTRP) of the City of Tacloban." This ordinance outlines the policies and guidelines for implementing the new transport system.
During a dialogue held on August 12, 2024, the Tacloban City Traffic Management and Enforcement Office (TOMECO) briefed transport operators and representatives on the fundamental changes introduced by the ordinance, including adjustments to their existing routes. One significant change is the requirement for public utility vehicles traveling to Tacloban North to pass through the New Bus Terminal and Congressman Mate Avenue before entering the Downtown area.
