TACLOBAN CITY – The People's Center & Library in Tacloban City was filled with the vibrant sounds of Filipino music during "Salinlahing Musika: A Musical Offering," held on the afternoon of September 7, 2024. This concert celebrated the richness of the Philippine musical heritage, featuring talented winners from the National Music Competitions for Young Artists (NAMCYA).
Performers included the STEFTI Youth Choir from Tacloban City, the City of Bogo Science and Arts Academy Rondalla, and soloists Paula Katrina Poblador (soprano), Paul Ryan Arcolas (countertenor), and Adrik Cristobal (guitar). Their performances captivated the audience and showcased the extraordinary talents of the youth.
The concert also marked the conclusion of the 2024 NAMCYA Regional Semi-finals for the Visayas, which took place earlier that day. The announcement of the winners in categories such as Junior Solo Rondalla, Children’s Group Rondalla, and Youth Choir brought loud cheers and emotional reactions from the audience, celebrating the achievements of young musicians.
In recognition of the local government's support for the event, Ma. Lumen Tabao, the city tourism officer, received certificates of appreciation from NAMCYA President Dr. Renato Lucas on behalf of the local government, the City Tourism Operations Office, TINGOG Partylist, and Liga ng mga Barangay. This acknowledgement highlights the collaboration between local authorities and cultural organizations in promoting the arts and nurturing young talents.
